I learned a lot from creating the UC Equestrian Team's site. With the previous site I was constantly having to make updates and fix content. I wanted to create a system that would allow members of the executive board to make updates and keep content current. I have started to learn the basics of PHP and mySQL and have currently set up the site with a simple content management system so new events, news articles, and other site content can be updated quickly and with a very limited knowledge of HTML.
I was excited to work on this because I love the opportunity to learn a new programming language and expand my knowledge of what the internet is capable of. While I cannot say I have a great knowledge of PHP; working on this site taught me a lot. I used these skills when I rebuilt my portfolio site to make content easier to update and to assure consistency from page to page.
